I'd like to title this something like perfume of the day, but I'm a creature of habit and seldom switch out that much during a work day. Amber - light and powdery or dark and resinous - has been one of my favorite accords lately, and vanilla notes that don't make me smell like a candy store. (I am typically not a gourmand wearer; exceptionally sweet smells give me headaches and also I don't want to smell like a cupcake. Forgive me.)
The perfume in my work purse recently has been Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere by Philosophy, which I grabbed a travel size of. Before I apply it I do a quick dab of Kuumba Made amber paste and rub it in to create an amber base for the perfume. It gives it an element of spice which balances out the vanilla-musk sweetness. I originally grabbed it at whole foods, of all places (it does not get the dignity of being capitalized) & it turns out a proper half-ounce bottle is only 30 bucks (I've been using the 1/8 oz, a purse bottle if you will). Once I try some more solo-note ambers it will definitely be added to the collection. I forgot how fun it is to add a lil mood to whatever you're posting. ♡
